Regenerative city of carbon cops and carbon economists
In a disowned regenerative city futures 2050, energy sources are super-centralized that equal access is not guaranteed. City living is highly monitored by the law enforcers known as carbon cops, like energy consumption, carbon emission, resource use, and behavior. Carbon cops and regenerative economists maintain and manage the regenerative city systems.
Regenerating Peace Heroes
In workplaces, where problems are identified, children are brought in as arbitrators to address issues. Overall, we live in a peaceful society where there is no war.
Extraterrestrials arrive and they are refugees from a planet that destroyed itself through violence. They want to be warriors for peace on earth. So they fit in well with the City's extraordinary children and superheroes in their global peace projects. They have cool technologies on their spaceship that the company can scale-up to propagate sustainable development.
Thoughtful tourist on a bicycle ride together with locals to save energy
In 2050, tourists are attracted to visit cities depending on the practices of peace of the destination. This is a major attraction for those who would like to learn from this peaceful city to take the information back to their own home towns, as a sort of “energy exchange”. Tourists are given incentives and rewards by the city depending on their energy usage, and these rewards are in the form of “coins” that are redeemable for goods and services. As a tourist, you are also given the City Bike that allows you to convert your kinetic energy into power for the city grid. There is an initiative as well for tourists to share with this city their own knowledge from their cities, and their own best practices.
Instead of hotels and AirBnBs, the city promotes experiencing life with locals - so that there is a cultural exchange as well as the conversion of “unthoughtful tourists” to become more mindful and caring of the city’s practices and history.
When the global food shortage hits, the energy sector begins having problems and the peaceful city becomes overloaded with tourists seeking an easier life. Hotels create green walls and support community food production, and the city focuses on energy sources that can be linked up with food production, such as hydroelectric sources. The solar energy farms are also modified to be greenhouses to have the dual function of supplying food to the city, and citizens can be seen working together to discover energy saving food production practices together with the tourists.
